Swim Team Pool Access Policy
For legal and insurance purposes, access to the pool is strictly regulated. Please review the following guidelines carefully:
Non-Members of Hanarry Swim and Racquet Club (HSRC)
- Any individual who is not a registered member of HSRC and is not a Hanarry Hurricanes swim team member/swimmer is strictly prohibited from entering the pool at any time. This includes during practices, private lessons, and any other events.
- The only exception to this rule applies to designated swim team events that are open to the entire family. These events will be clearly communicated via email and social media.
Hanarry Hurricanes Team Members & Swimmers
- While non-HSRC members may participate as registered members of the Hanarry Hurricanes swim team, their pool access is limited strictly to scheduled team activities.
- Team members/swimmers who are not HSRC members may only enter the pool during their assigned practice times, private lessons, or officially sanctioned swim team events.
- Outside of these designated times, non-member swimmers are not permitted to use the pool for any reason.
These policies are in place to ensure the safety, liability compliance, and proper use of the facility. Any violations of this policy may result in restricted participation in team activities. Repeated violations may result in removal from the team without a refund. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and organized environment for all swimmers and families.
Volunteer Policy
Please read carefully to understand the expectations and consequences of not fulfilling your volunteer commitment. It takes 40 volunteers to run a single swim meet!
- Volunteer Requirement: At least one family member/guardian must volunteer for a minimum of four shifts during the course of the season. A shift typically covers half of a meet, depending on the role. Exception: If your child is a Stormchaser (non-competitive group), you are NOT required to volunteer during meets.
- Check-In: Volunteers must check in on time with the Hurricanes' Volunteer Coordinator at the designated table before the start of each meet to receive credit for their shift.
- Penalty for Unfulfilled Commitments: If you do not sign up for at least four shifts, or if you sign up but fail to provide a volunteer for your shift, you will be charged a penalty fee at the end of of the season.
- Finding a Replacement: If you are unable to fulfill a shift, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator immediately with any changes. Our private Facebook group includes a “Rent-A-Teen” program, where teenagers are available to work shifts for payment.
- Volunteer Roles & Training: Please see our Volunteers page for descriptions of the roles we need to fill during meets. We will offer training for certain roles (like Stoke and Turn judges). Please talk to our volunteer coordinator or council if you have questions about which role is right for you!
Your support is essential in making our swim season a success—thank you for being part of the team!
For more information on our volunteer roles check out our volunteer roles descriptions: Volunteers page.

Weather Policy
- Practices and meets may continue in the rain but will be delayed due to lightning risks.
- If the weather is questionable, please stay nearby - typically wait in your car for updates - or arrange for prompt pickup in case of cancellation.

- Weather-related cancellations will be communicated via our News page, private Facebook group, and email.
