Landon is returning for his 4th season as Head Coach!
As a high school swimmer, Coach Landon competed for Parkview and Gwinnett Aquatics. In his senior year at Parkview, he accomplished a rare feat—qualifying for the GHSA State Championship in every single event. A true all-around swimmer, he excelled in a range of events, including the 50 free, 500 free, 200 IM, and 100 breaststroke. He is currently swimming for the University of Georgia Club Team where the boys won the Southeastern Regional Championship and swept all relays.
At Hanarry, Coach Landon has been a dedicated instructor, providing private lessons to swimmers of all ages throughout our community—from our youngest Storm Chasers to adult swimmers looking to improve their skills. His commitment to helping others grow in the sport has made a lasting impact on those he teaches.
As the Head Coach of the Hanarry Hurricanes, his passion for swimming and for our team continues to shine through. His goal is to ensure that every swimmer masters all four strokes while fostering a lifelong love for the sport!
Laila is returning for her 2nd season as an Assistant Coach!
For the past six years, Laila has been a proud member of the Hanarry Hurricanes, and in that time, she has become an irreplaceable part of our team with her sharp eyes and the discipline she brings when she teaches. Her passion for swimming and leadership has shone through as a Junior Coach for multiple seasons, and for the past four years, she has taught private lessons ranging from introductory comfort to highly technical butterfly to both our swimmers and others in the community.
This year, Laila is in her first year of college at Georgia State, after graduating Parkview last year, where she has spent all four years competing for Parkview Swim and Dive. We are excited to have her talent back to create the next generation of swimmers!
Emily is finally joining the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach!
We are so excited to welcome Emily to our coaching staff! Emily has been bringing her positivity, leadership, and love for swimming to the pool for the past six years. She began her swim journey right here with the Hanarry Hurricanes, joining the team the summer before her freshman year of high school.
Emily went on to swim all four years at Parkview High School, where she continued to grow as both an athlete and a leader. She is currently enrolled at Piedmont University, where she swims collegiately and also competes in track and field.
In addition to her competitive experience, Emily has a strong background in teaching and coaching. She taught swim lessons at Hanarry for several years before moving on to teach at Gwinnett Aquatics, where she also spent two years swimming on their team.
Emily loves coaching and is passionate about inspiring the next generation of swimmers—helping them grow their skills, confidence, and love for the sport just as she has.
This season we created a new coaching position called Junior Assistant Coach, so that our most talented Junior Coaches can work with our competition team, further develop their coaching skills, and enable us to give more coaching attention to our swimmers to develop their swimming skills. Our Junior Assistant Coaches this year are Ben Sanders, Donovan Hillesheim, Gabe Metcalf, and Izzie Carlton.
Junior Coaches guide our youngest and newest Hurricanes called the Storm Chasers. They help cultivate a love for swimming and teach the basics of technique and being on a team.
We have 6 Junior Coaches who will teach our Storm Chasers along with our Junior Assistant Coaches. They are Aiden Ivie, Ava Quillian, Chloe Peters, Finn Quillian, Liam Forrester, and Marcos DeVries Chavarria.
