Let's storm the pool!

After a late night of racing, we let our swimmers sleep in, play at the pool, and recognize special accomplishments from the meet. Swimmers get to enjoy snacks, ribbons, awards, and fun in the pool!

This is an exclusive event for Hanarry Hurricanes! Fun Friday ends at 10:55. The pool opens to HSRC members and their guests at 11:00a. You can join HSRC here.

Perfect Attendance

Receives Navy Beads

This goes to swimmers who attended practice all four days that week. This is the best way to make friends and develop your skills. The first step towards excellence is showing up.

"Touch Grass"

Receives White Beads

This goes to 13-18 year old swimmers who turned their phone in to the Hurricane Shelter to protect their phone from the storm from the time they arrive on the pool deck to the time they leave to go home at the meet the previous night.

100% Best Times

Receives Silver Beads

This goes to swimmers who improved in every individual event they swam. This is not easy, but it shows that these swimmers have been working hard at practice and swim their best at meets.

The 15 Point Club

Receives Gold Beads

This goes to swimmers who scored 15 points or more in the previous meet. This requires winning races and typically goes to swimmers who have invested a lot of time and energy improving for multiple years. They are pursuing their best, and it shows.

The Speedbreaker Award

Receives Golden "Speedbreaker" Sunglasses

This goes to the three swimmers who dropped the most time in an individual event. More than just improving, these swimmers make improvements greater than anyone else on the swim team. This goes most frequently to new swimmers who are making leaps in their skills, and our hope is that this encourages new swimmers to stick with it, to keep working hard, and to remain focused at practice. They are on the road to excellence.

Swimmers of the Week

Receives Coupons for the Concession Stand and a Yard Sign

Each week, the coaches pick one male and one female swimmer who have great character, a solid work ethic, and an attitude to be the best that they can be. These swimmers are frequently the hardest working in their age group, lead others, actively ask coaches about how they can improve, pay attention to their swimming, work to improve consistently, and always see great results. They are an example for everyone.
